Elder Mediation

Elder mediation provides a forum for family decision-making when significant conflict is present and the family is unable to reach an amicable solution to the dispute on their own. Mediators facilitate a purposeful and directed conversation in which family members are encouraged to express their interests and concerns. The mediator is a highly skilled conflict resolution expert and a neutral facilitator who does not provide advice or “take sides” in these discussions. The two primary goals of mediation are to allow families to create workable and mutually acceptable solutions to their difficult disputes and to develop communication strategies to enable them to successfully work together to make important decisions in the future.

Dr. Fee is a Texas Credentialed Mediator with advanced training in Elder Mediation. He also serves on the training faculty of Manuosso Mediation and Arbitration.

Consulting

Dr. Fee is a sought-after consultant and has provided consultation services to numerous organizations that offer services to older adults, including one of the largest providers of long-term care services in the United States. He has particular expertise in completing comprehensive assessments to provide individuals and families with the information they need to make decisions, make plans, and take action. This includes, but is not limited to conducting stand-alone assessments of what it would require for an individual with a particular set of care needs to remain living in their home environment. He brings that same level of expertise in assisting individuals and families who only want assistance in a specific domain area and do not desire to engage in more comprehensive care management services.
